The notifications in LeadDesk are aimed primarily at agents. As such, notifications must be enabled on the agent’s computer, and in the browser. These instructions assume you are using Google Chrome, the recommended browser for LeadDesk.
Important: Notifications can be a security risk. It is recommended that you only enable them on sites you trust.
Enabling notifications in Windows
Windows has a global setting to allow notifications from applications. If this is not already enabled on your computer, you will need to switch it on. These instructions will take you through how to reach the Notification Settings in Windows 10 and Windows 11, and then explain what settings need to be enabled.
Windows 10
- Press the Windows Start button.
- Click the Settings icon on the left-hand side.
The Settings window will open.
- Click to select from the left-hand menu.
- Proceed to Notification Settings, below.
Windows 11
- Press the Windows Start button.
- In the Pinned section, click the Settings icon . If Settings does not appear in the Pinned section, you will need to search for it in the search field.
The Settings window will open.
- In the right-hand menu, click Notifications.
- Proceed to Notification Settings, below.
Notification Settings
- In the Notifications section, make sure the toggle for Get notifications from apps and other senders is set to On.
- Scroll down to the Get notifications from these senders.
- Make sure that the toggle for Google Chrome is set to On.

- You can now close the Settings.
Once you have checked that Windows will allow notifications, you must also make sure that Chrome will allow notifications for the LeadDesk site.
Enabling notifications in Chrome
To enable notifications for LeadDesk in the Google Chrome browser:
- Open Chrome.
- Go to your normal LeadDesk login screen and copy the first part of its web address (up to and including leaddesk.com)
- Click the in the top right of the browser window.
- Click Settings.
The Settings page will open.
- In the left-hand menu, click .
- In the Privacy and security menu, click Site Settings.
- In the Permissions section, click Notifications.
The Notifications page lets you change your browser’s default behaviour or create rules for specific sites.
- Look for the heading Allowed to send notifications and click next to it.
- In Site, paste the web address of your normal LeadDesk login screen (as copied in step 2).
- Click the button.
Notifications are now enabled. You can now close the Settings tab in Chrome.
