If enabled, LeadDesk's internal Chat gives agents and admins a chat function available within the interface.
This provides a quick way for agents to consult with each other, or with their team leaders or admins, even if they are working remotely. If enabled, the chat tab will appear in the agent interfaces for Outbound and Omni, plus the admin interface.
To use the chat, if it is enabled:
- Click the Chat tab at the bottom of the screen.
This will expand to show a list of all online users.
- To see users who are not currently online, click to tick the Show offline users checkbox.
- Click the name of a user to begin chatting with them.
- Type a message, then click the Send button to send a message.
With the chat function, you can:
- Chat with an individual. You cannot send chat messages to a group.
- Have several chats open at once.
- Send text only, your messages cannot include images, attachments, GIFs or emojis.
- Send links. If you type or paste a URL into chat it will appear as a link.
