Error message “The modem is not working because Windows couldn't upload the drivers required for this device.”
This is a user-reported fix to modify the corresponding registry file:
- Un-install all previously installed modem files.
- Restart the computer.
- Go to Start Menu
- Run ‘regedit’
- Open this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E96D-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
- In this key, find the “Installer32” string.
- If the Microsoft Registration Key is missing, the key has to be added manually.
- Create a “string” value named “Installer32”, and set it to “mdminst.dll,ClassInstall32”
- Save the ‘regedit’.
Start the LeadDesk application. In the upper left corner of the login screen, select primary audio driver for both output and input. Login, start calling, and start closing!
