This article discusses how to set up transcribing for your projects, outbound or inbound, including how to choose the language for your transcripts.

Choosing the default language
Before activating the AI Transcriber for individual projects, you can select the default language for all transcriptions. This setting will be applied to all projects that use the transcriber, but the setting can be over-ridden by individual projects if needed.
There are several factors to consider when setting a language for your transcripts, either as a global setting or in your projects:
- Choosing a language is recommended, as it will give the best possible quality for the transcripts.
- If a language is chosen, all transcripts are created in this language. If the call was conducted in a different language, this can have unpredictable results in the transcript.
- If multiple languages are likely to be used for your calls, and you want the transcripts to be in the original call language, choose Auto detect.
In your Admin account:
- Go to the General Settings page.
- Go to the Global settings subpage.
- Navigate to the Language section.
- Click the Client language for call transcriptions drop-down list and select the preferred language.
- Click the Save button in the top right to save the changes.
Activating AI Transcriber on a project
Transcription needs to be activated on a project-by-project basis. It can be done for both outbound call center projects and inbound customer service projects.
In either case, in your Admin account:
- Go to the Projects page.
- Go to the Project List subpage.
- If necessary, search for the project you want to update and click its name.
Alternatively, create a new project, completing its details as needed. - Navigate to the AI Transcriber settings section.
- Click to tick the Enable AI Transcription checkbox.
- Optionally, click the Project language for call transcriptions drop-down list and select the language for this project's transcripts. This overrides the global setting.
- Make any other changes you want for the project, then click the Save button in the top right to save the changes.
