LD Agents - Adding LeadDesk to Windows Firewall

This article covers how to add the LeadDesk application components to your computer's Windows Firewall. 

You can do this so that you're able to use and/or run into trouble with:

  1. VoIP Remote listener,
  2. Uploading recordings,
  3. Using your speakers to play the incoming ringtone,
  4. Allowing 3rd party VoIP to call out.
  1. Open the Windows start menu,
  2. Search for "Allow an app through Windows Firewall",
  3. Open up the suggested application.

  1. Click the "Change Settings" button,
  2. Click the "Allow another app.." button.

  1. Click the "Browse..." button.

  1. Navigate through the folders to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\LeadDesk
  2. Click on "Call_Maker_setup"
  3. Click on the "Open" button.

  1. You will now see the program that you added in the list. Put a check mark in the Private and Public collumn for it.
  2. Click the "Allow another app.." button.

  1. Repeat the previous 2 steps for all of these files:
  • Call_Maker_Setup
  • CallMaker
  • lame
  • media
  • Starter
  • Updater

  1. The programs might show slightly different in your "Allowed apps" overview. Here's how to find them.
  • Call_Maker_Setup - "Call_Maker_Setup"
  • CallMaker - "CallMaker"
  • lame - "lame"
  • media - "New Media"
  • Starter - "Starter"
  • Updater - "callmaker"
  1. Click the "OK" button.

  1. Restart your LeadDesk application
