As we want to ensure the best possible user experience for LeadDesk users, starting from the beginning of February 2020 we are going to enforce our application lifecycle management process.
What this means is that we will have two types of updates; Normal updates (with testing done only with the newest version) and Long term support (LTS) versions, which are supported and tested for 18-months at a time.
We will have a maximum of 2 LTS versions available at any time.
Latest LTS version is v8.6 - Supported until July 2021
To ensure customers are aware of the currently installed version becoming outdated, we will implement a pop-up screen, which notifies your agents 2 months before the release is stopped being supported.
We urge you to ensure that all agents in your company keep LeadDesk updated to ensure proper functionality also going forward. You can find the most recent versions on our Downloads page
Why do I need to update?
We constantly update LeadDesk to improve user experience, add features and deal with possible bugs. As with any software, to ensure the best user experience for you and your agents, updating LeadDesk to the latest version is highly recommended.
What happens if I don't update?
You will miss out on the newest features and performance upgrades. There is also a increased risk of encountering bugs that have been fixed in newer releases.
What to do if I have an older version than the LTS in use?
Update LeadDesk as soon as possible. You will start getting notifications every time you log in to update. The same applies to your agents.
I have the LTS version in use, how long is it supported?
The LTS version will be supported for 18 months from the release date. The current LTS versions and release dates will be communicated on our Support page.
I am using a newer version than the LTS, how long is it supported?
You can use the version for 18 months from the release date of the previous LTS version.
What is the current LTS version?

I try to install the LeadDesk 8.6, but Windows gives me a notification "Windows protected your PC”?
Microsoft SmartScreen blocks .exe files that it suspects are not safe to use. In some cases, this may be triggered due to a low amount of downloads and installs. We are working with Microsoft to have this flagged, but it might still give false positives. We ensure the LeadDesk installer is completely safe to download and install from our website. If Windows blocks your attempt to install, you can bypass this by clicking ”More info" and "Proceed anyway".
